Vicksburg Council 898 was the third council chartered in Mississippi on 15 May 1904 with 79 members, including two clergy. The present council home is located on Fisher Ferry Road just south of the Vicksburg city limits. In 1994, the council's 90th anniversary, descendants of charter members were honored.
